Talent is God given. Be humble. Fame is man-given. Be grateful. Conceit is self-given. Be careful. ~John Wooden

Please join us for a special Fund Raiser on May 18, 2008
from 9am until 12 noon at LAX Range! On Sunday, May 18, 2008, we will be conducting a fund raiser on behalf of Robert Ram. Robert is the 12 year old son of Los Angeles County Deputy, Ravi Ram. Ravi is also an associate of LAX Firing Range. 12 year old Robert was diagnosed with bone cancer more than a year ago. After several rounds of chemotherapy and an unsuccessful attempt at saving Roberts left leg a second surgery was necessary to amputate above the knee. The Ram family and especially Robert could use a break.
Help us put a smile back on Roberts face by participating in our fund raiser for the family. To assist the Ram family with current and future medical expenses, LAX range will be hosting a fund raiser on their behalf. We will open the range from 9am to 12 noon for anyone wishing to contribute. We will ask all shooters to make a $15.00 (fifteen dollar) contribution on behalf of the Ram Family. All money collected will be given directly to the family at a special ceremony at the Carson Sheriff Station later this month. We would also like to ask everyone contributing to sign his "get well" card.
If you would like to help but can not make it out on May 18, please call Nolan at the range (310) 568-1515. Please join the cause and help us assist the Ram Family.
We really appreciate your support and assistance and look forward to seeing you here.

The Hebrew word "tzedakah" is commonly translated as "charity" or "tithe." But this is misleading. "Charity" implies that your heart motivates you to go beyond the call of duty. "Tzedakah," however, literally means "righteousness" -- doing the right thing. A "tzaddik," likewise, is a righteous person, someone who fulfills all his obligations, whether in the mood or not.
